  • Are there any Segway tour weight restrictions?
    Riders must be over 100 pounds (45 kilograms) and less than 250 pounds (112 kilograms).

  • What are the age limits for Segway tours and why?
    For safety purposes we require a minimum age of 16.  We will require waivers to be signed by a parent/guardian for anyone under 18 and everyone over the age of 18.

  • Is a Segway difficult to ride?
    No, the Segway is very easy to ride.  With just a little training, you'll be ready to enjoy gliding on a Segway personal transporter.

  • Do you offer gift certificates for Segway and Walking tours?
    Gift certificates are available for all four Hysterical events, Old Sacramento Hysterical Walks, Hysterical Walk of the Dead, Hysterical Magical Mystery Tour and Hysterical Segway City Tours.

  • What happens if it's raining?
    Always call at least one hour prior to the start of your tour. During winter months, weather can change very quickly. We may start a tour during a mild sprinkle with the sun coming through in just a short period.

  • Do I have to be in great shape to ride a Segway?
    Riders must be able to easily and quickly step on and off without assistance, which requires abilities similar to climbing stairs without any assistance or use of a handrail. Rider must be able to lean in four directions to operate and steer the Segway. Lastly, participants should be reasonably fit and able to stand for a duration of the tour which will typically be between one to one and one half hours. We will make multiple stops including a rest break.

  • Can I bring a camera?
    Absolutely! There will be great photo opportunities along the way so cameras are highly encouraged, but please leave other bulky items behind. We will also ask you, for the purposes of safety, not to take pictures, use your cell phone or i-pod while your Segway is in motion. We will make plenty of stops, and by all means if you see something you'd like to photograph, say the word and your guide will pause for you.

  • Do I have to wear a helmet on Segway tours?
    Yes, we require everyone to wear a helmet while touring/gliding on your Segway. They will be provided for your safety and convenience.

  • I'm pregnant, can I ride a Segway?
    No, for the safety of your unborn baby, expectant mothers are not permitted to ride a Segway.

  • I've never ridden a Segway, will there be training?
    Yes, our experienced tour guides will work with you through a thorough training session, typically lasting approximately 30 minutes. Once all tour participants are certified, we will begin our tour.

    Tour Guides are allowed to accept tips. As a matter of fact, you will make their day for your appreciation of a job well done.

  • What is the Segway Tour refund policy?
    Reservations for our Segway tours require 100% advance payment. This deposit is fully refundable if the reservation is cancelled 3 days (72 hours) or more prior to the scheduled tour. The deposit will not be refunded for any other reason (i.e. weather, change of travel plans, missed train, missed plane, overslept...) within 72 hours of the scheduled tour.

  • What is the Walking Tour refund policy?

The deposit will not be refunded for any other reason (i.e. weather, change of travel plans, missed train, missed plane, overslept...) within 24 hours of the scheduled tour.

  • Is there parking available in Old Sacramento?
    There is limited metered parking in Old Sacramento. There are also two convenient city operated parking structures located at each end of Old Sacramento, 2nd & I St., and Front & Capitol Mall. Segway tours may find free parking in the Clarion Hotel Lot only when available.
